I took Zoloft in 2005 when I was pregnant and up until my son was 9 months old. I nursed him until he was six months old. When he was born he immediately showed signs of respiratory distress. The problem continued for his entire first year of life. He was taken to the emergency room on 6 different occasions and was hospitalized once due to this condition. On top of the respiratory problems he was constantly crying. He was kicked out of daycare when he was 5 months old due to the nonstop crying. He also had a severe rash all over his body that the doctors couldnt figure out. I recently obtained all our medical records to support all of this. I was 16 when I found out I was pregnant and I took this medication to help me cope with my situation. Instead it added an enormous amount of stress and grief.

I don't know if I am too late to file for a lawsuit, because the last time my wife took Darvocet was in 2006. She has since experienced heart complications which I believe was brought on by the long period of time she was taking Darvocet. She now takes [2] heart medications for reasons which she knows better than I do. When my wife was in her first pregnancy trimester we visited her doctor and I was in the room at the time when I heard the doctor tell my wife that it was OK to take Darvocet, Topamax and Zoloft during the course of her pregnancy every day until our child was born in April of 2006. Since the birth of our son who is now 5 years old we have noticed some troubling aftereffects which include all of the following: he has been diagnosis by his schools psychiatrist to have ADHD, Autism/Asperger Syndrome, Severe anxiety, depression, rigidity, social anxiety, OCD (Obsessive compulsive disorder), left eye pain and burning sensation, arm and leg muscle pain, excessive body hair growth on arms back and legs from the day he was born, stomach pain and severe heart burn, irregular nocturnal sleep patterns as well as other learning disabilities.

Took zoloft 5mos prior to and during pregnancy. Near the end of preg term, I developed polyhydramnious which prompted an ultrasound. Ultrasound also showed problems with baby's kidneys. After induced and traumatic birth, tests were performed showing that he had severe renal refulx in both kidneys, and the left has 2 ureters. After multiple tests, waiting and praying that he would "grow out of it" he is now scheduled for surgery next month. I will be taking off work, and we already have medical bills...not to mention the stress and guilt I feel knowing that his cond may be related to something I could have survived without :(

I have been on Zoloft for about 8 years now...For depression & OCD......and I'm not sure what normal feels like. I have many side effects...from being moody, anger...and many more. I have tried to stop a couple of times.....but the withdrawals are extreme. I am going to try again and I hope nothing happens to me or anyone I know.....I'm hoping for the best. If I knew that Zoloft was addictive I would not have started it......period.

In middle June of 2008, a doctor at my VA in Sacramento refused to refill my prescription of Zoloft, citing that she would not do it, and that to continue getting it, I had to see a mental health specialist. I became highly bi-polar, lost my job, got evicted, and became suicidal. I lived homeless on the Yuba River for five months until I got SSD. I still take Zoloft, but my weight has shot up and my blood pressure is still high, despite taking Amlodipine to treat it. I cannot seem to lose weight, but I fear becoming bi-polar as it severely affects my reasoning. I take 100 mil. of Zoloft daily; and my current VA health provider has not offered a substitute or a better solution.

Our son was born in October of 2009 with a congenital birth defect. He has a tumor on his finger. The doctor's here in Iowa have referred him for treatment at Rochester Mayo Clinic. He had an MRI last summer and it was determined that his tumor does involve his nerves so he will have to undergo several surgies from now until he is done with puberty to keep the tumor under control. The doctor will shrink the tumor, but with grow spurts it will get big again. We do have health insurance, however; it does not cover 100% of the medical cost, nor travel, lodging etc. His first surgery is coming up later this year. His tumor has been diagnosed as not being cancer. I took Zoloft throughout preganancy as I was told that it was safe to take. I would have never taken if I would have known that it could hurt our baby. As an infant, our son had uncontrolable crying spells. His finger is very large. It gets caught in toys and other objects. It does not appear to be painful. Many question what happened to his finger. We are hoping that when he gets into school he will not be teased because of it. We are hoping that he will have full function of it, but long term damage is unknown at this point.

Case Details:
I was disgoinsed with a seizure disorder in November 2009. It was at hat time petite mal seizure. I was taking 50 mg of zoloft for depression. My medical doctor raised my dosage to 150 mg. My seizures became more frequent (on the average of 10 to 15 weekly) they became more aggressive. I had a grand mal seizure a week and a half ago. Which my neurologist said my seizure disorder was getting more progressive and more frequent due to the zoloft I was prescribed and immediately took me off the zoloft. The Gand mal seizure I had was when I was getting ready to take a shower. I seized causing me to fall into the shower and ending up burning 80 percent of my back with 2 nd and 3rd degree burns. I have also had serious problems while I was on the zoloft with when I stood up from a sitting position I would black out and fall over. I have been sent to a heart specialist which found nothing wrong with my heart . After stopping the zoloft I have not had anymore of these episodes of blacking out when standing up. I would appreciate help from a lawyer in my case. I would like to know what my rights are here in this matter. Thank you.

Case Details:
I was on Zoloft for anxiety and found myself sort of in a fog a lot of the time on it. I caught myself running red lights while driving because I would "zone out" so to speak and not really be "all there." I had a pretty major car accident this spring where I ran a red light and, even though I wasn't hurt, I couldn't remember the previous 15 seconds or so to even remember what color the light was to know if it was my fault. This was typical of how I had been, so I began tapering off the Zoloft, even though for my anxiety and social phobia it was working great. Now that I have finally gotten to the "off" phase of the Zoloft taper, I'm in misery. I'm nauseous, have severe vertigo, all my muscles and joints hurt, my head hurts, and I've got these "brain zaps" where it feels like someone is sticking a cattle prod in my ear and shocking my brain. I can actually hear the zaps too. When I have the sensation I hear a little accompanying "pop." I'm going on a week now and it's hard to function. I'm really not performing well at work and losing money.

I was prescribed zoloft back in 1999-2000 by my mental health counselor who thought it would work better than the Wellbutrin. Well it didn't it made my ife a living hell! I had problems with other medicines like my astma medicines, any other pills for OCD and I couldn't funtion while on this medicine. I found my self outside & couldn't figure out how I got there. I felt very out of touch with reality most of the times When I returned to the doctor I told him I didn't want to take Zoloft anymore because of all the side effects and not being able to work or function like a human being. He told me I had to wait at least a month so the zoloft could work but I had night terrors so bad I just stop taking it! My chest hurt for a good long time & the doctors (family nor mental health) wouldn't set me up for x-rays to make sure I was o.k.! I had night terrors up to a month AFTER I had taken this medicine & I''ll never take it again. Turns out I was allergic to it!
