| National Power of Houston signed 12 month contracts with customers in Texas to provide electricty at 11 cents per KWh. Because of the increase in national gas prices, they determined they couldn't meet this obligation. They sent letters to their customers, approximately 15,000, telling them they were canceling their contracts and increasing the price to 15 cent KWh. The Texas PUC stepped in and told them they couldn't change the contracts. Then National Power simply decided to dump their customers and no longer do business in Texas. We had legal contracts with this company to provide electric service at 11 cents KWh. They should be held liable for walking out on their legal obligations. Also, I'd to somehow see the Texas PUC included in this lawsuit for not protecting the Texas consumers.
