Case Details:
I was first prescribed Seroquel when I was 12 years old for "immediate results" for my rapid cycling Bi-polar disorder. I have since put on 80 pounds. I was on 800 milligrams of Seroquel a day. The most irritating and debilitating side effect was when I began developing uncontrolled muscle movements. My doctor said it was because of the Seroquel I developed restless leg syndrome. I still have spasms that startle and wake me out of my sleep constantly. I am now 22 & although I'm no longer taking Seroquel I still suffer from really bad loss of memory, insomnia, restless legs syndrome, increased anxiety and agitation and even seizures. Please help me!

Case Details:
I was hospitalized for a week because of this drug and 6 months later, still have no feeling in my left shin. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital where they found that all my muscle enzymes 40,000 meaning they are normally it is 200. All blood vessels burst in legs and went into tissues. It took them a week to flush system and me to regain 75% feeling-I could not even walk.. My enzymes again for a normal person were supposed to be at 200 and they released me when they reached 5000 but I have suffered some nerve damage. Left shin, never regained feeling and now my feet and toes tingle constantly. THIS DRUG IS DANGEROUS...

I took this medication for three years and when I went to get a blood test to accumulate health insurance I was barely approved because of a few factors including my blood sugar level. I could not understand why it was so high. I don't have any diabetic people in my family.
I believe it's possible that this could be from constant use of Seroquel.
I can submit blood work results and proof of prescription.

Case Details:
While on Seroquel I was in a zombie state. I couldn't have conversations, I slept all the them and I had troubles walking. I had nightmares, cold-sweats, uncontrolable movements in my legs. I gain 25 lbs in a short two months. I detoxed off of Seroquel and it was the worse experience of my life. I couldn't sleep for 6 days straight, my anxiety was terrible, I couldn't eat, my heart rate was out of control. It has now been three months since I quit taking the meds and I still have side effects. My energy is very low, I have stomach pains and my legs still shake.

Case Details:
I started taking Serequel in early 2004 for sleep and personality disorder. in late 2007 I ahdnt been feeling well and had blood work and a full physical done. My blood glucose indicated that I was developing Type 2 diabetes. Keep in mind, that I was not overweight and otherwise healthy. Then in a couple months later, when we checked my glucose again, i was diagnosed with full blown Type 2 Diabetes. I have been on insulin ever since.

Case Details:
12/12/2008 psychiatrist told me she is starting on 25mg of Seroquel because I cannot sleep well. It turns out she gave me 100 mg as first dose. At the time, I did not check the bottle and just took one pill as she directed me to before bedtime. That night i was hyperventilating, almost lost conciousness, BP drpped severely and today is 1/13/09. Now I am suffering from shortness of breath, cannot sleep stright laying down, I have unexplainable twiching, and sometimes convulsions of entire body lasting 15 to 20 minutes. I am a dentist and is still out of work. I have been in the hospital doctors cannot still figure out what is wrong with me. I am seeing a neuro sub specialist as soon as I can. This medication Seroquel is very dangerous in my experience and I plan to get to the bottom of what really is going on with my body.

Case Details:
Since starting Seroquel (I can't even remember when, 2 years ago, I think) started off low dose then slowly ramped up to 800mg/day. Barely able to stay awake the dose was split into 4 doses of 200mg. The weight gain started almost immediately and continued until July of this year when I have started weaning down. I am down to 225mg/day and do another wean down starting this week.
I was diagnosed last month with Type 2 diabetes and in my opinion, it is the Seroquel that did this to me. I never received any "inbox" info other than the "medwatch" papers which I briefly scanned.
I was not checked for liver function at all and am currently awaiting results from urinalysis, checking my kidneys and liver.
I emailed Astral/Zeneca approx two weeks ago and have yet to hear back from them.
I thank you for your time in this matter,
Helen Henderson
