My 2005 Chevy Equinox is in the shop and is in need of a new engine due to a porous buildup and warping around the head gaskets. This damage was caused my dexcool that was used in my car. I have had the car for only three years and have already had to replace the radiator due to a leak and it doesn't even have100,000 miles on it

I have less than 80k on my 97 Lumina. The low coolant light stays on. i just put a gallon of coolant in it the other day. Replacing the intake manifold gasket is just too expensive for my budget. GM isn't perfect but they should at least pay half the cost of replacing the intake manifold gasket for it's a factory defect problem. People just can't afford to pay for this service all by themselves. GM needs to stand up and take responsibility. If GM would help people people will be grateful and buy another GM product.

I have had this car for about a year. The problems never seem to end. Its very upsetting that Chevy, an american made car would pay fit to be put on the market. The list is endless (new intake gasget, radiator, radiator fan, dex-cool antifreeze, windshield wipers, power window problems, check engine light, low coolant light, wheel bearings) Is this a quality made product?

Why is there a cut-off date of 2008? What about my car which showed absolutely NO signs of damage...until it was too late. I would have never known about this class action suit had I not HAD to google the damages on my car! It seems quite unfair to select a cut off date.....and I think that GM should be responsible for my damages as well. My 1998 Monte Carlo has the exact problems listed here......with NO warning..my car started blowing cold air (in a January, Michigan winter!). The thermostat went almost to the red but as soon as I turned off the heater switch, it went back down. My husband filled the car with coolant and it worked fine for two days. Then it happened again. Our mechanic is the one who looked over the car and told us that the intake gasket was bad and needed to be replaced.

today, I payed 948.14 dollars and cents to replace the intake gaskets on my 3.4 liter V-6 2004 impala. I had thermostat fluctuations the that morning and took it to the dealer were my car had been service since I purchase. This impala was made in fall of 2003 to the best of my knowledge. Maintenance was performed on a routine schedule at the dealer were I purchased the vehicle. I point out that this problem appeared to be because of defective materials. I repair power tools for a living. Defective parts show up all the time. It appears the problem extends beyond the 2003 impala's. I feel that this repair should have never happen.

Antifreeze was leaking back into the engine block, spent almost $850. to repair problem. Six months later, engine was ruined and I had to donate the car to a non-profit and lost all my equity and resale value in vehicle. Approximate loss: $7,000. retail value. I read about the class suit rendered against GM on this website, filed in CALIFORNIA SUPERIOR COURT.

Right now I am driving my car with the leak. The mechanic said I have a little time but it needs to be repaired before it gets cold outside. He said it will be about 1100$ to fix it and I don't have the money or can I get a loan. I filed bankruptcy 2years ago and there is no way anyone will lend me the money. I work too early in the morning to take a bus and I could possibly lose my job I have had for 22 years. If I would have had any idea GM was selling an inferior product I would never have bought it.
