Case Summary:
Ridiculous claims of 94-99% job placement, claims of state of the art equipment (ie studio equipment is completely outdated), school claims instructors are professionals in broadcasting when they are just teaching at the school (ie not having jobs in the industry). The company lies and defrauds students.

Case Details:
Looking back, the Ohio Center for Broadcasting pretty much said anything to me to get me to sign up; they first told me I was eligible to financial assistance, only to tell me after I signed up that I was no longer eligible for the financial aid they had set me up for and stuck me with the difference. The teachers were so-so, some good, but others are on varying levels of incompetence, a lot of times without a real lesson plan. One staff member got fired for having sexual relations with a student from my class. It's really impossible to fail too, you basically get an 'A' for anything you turn in. The equipment is severely outdated, especially the radio side. I learned almost nothing new about broadcasting that I didn't already know. And Each month as you got closer to "graduation", the staff would pull back more and more of their promises, especially their claims of +90% job placement...outrageous. Then they pull back the promises of 'good' jobs. You quickly realize that not only are most of these "opportunities" just pathetic, part-time work, bad pay, no benefits in the middle of nowhere, but I would estimate 50% at the MOST got broadcasting jobs after graduation. The school uses false statistics and promises to lure you in which is terribly deceitful. They are very many dishonest individuals working there make a lot of false claims and if I knew what I knew now I would have used that extremely overpriced $14,000 on a education worthwhile.
