Case Details:
Huntington puts a hold on funds in my checking account based on pending transactions. What they are in essence doing is holding those funds for future transactions and then charging me overdraft fees for my current transactions. The problem is that when those future transactions come in, they have already taken the money they "held" and paid my transactions, and then charge me another overdraft fee for these later transactions.
If my money is unavailable today because I have transactions outstanding, then those future transactions should not have fees charged - they're charging me today because they're holding my money specifically for those transactions. But they will charge me for those transactions as well

In the span of ONE DAY, my account was charged three, $36.00 overdraft fees, and subsequently charged another two $36.00 overdraft fees in the next two days and another $7.00 continuous overdraft charge. These stem from two, $2.50 atm withdrawal fees that pnc debited to the account literally TWO WEEKS after they occurred. I have proof that they originally post when the account was positive, then removed when the account went negative, then posted again. Clearly this is illegal to charge someone $187.00 for $5.00 ATM charge?

Case Details:
I opened my account with Huntington in 2003. I never had a problem with Huntington until this year. I got laid off from my job about a year ago and making a small amount of unemployment mad it difficult to make ends meet. There were a few times when the balance in my account was pretty low I will be honest. I would pay off one or two bills per unemployment check, and then try to afford groceries and necessities after that. There were a few times that I would have overdrawn my account on just a Taco Bell purchase of $2, or buying soap and toilet paper for $10 and end up paying over $200 is NSF fees. Huntington processed all of the small purchases first even if they were 20 hours after I paid a larger bill. This happened twice to the point where a full week later my unemployment check didn't even cover the NSF fees from the week before. I was forced to close my Huntington account because I could not afford $37.50 charged on items I paid 3 days before I ran out of money. Somehow after I signed papers to close the account with the branch manager of Huntington Bank, I have received a letter in the mail saying I owe further NSF fees for items that posted just before I closed the account. I have lost so much money and sleep over this bank, and have gone days without food because Huntington literally left me without any way to feed myself. When I called the bank they said it was their policy to post smaller items first and that they could not refund my money, whether I was starving to death or not.

It's been a few years since this occured but I have a current account with them and htery chatrged me well over $ 500.00 in overdraft fees for several small transactions such as drive through food on my debit card. When I inquired about this I was told I've already been granted relief in the past and was forced to pay these fees. When I asked why the transactions weren't declined they indicated it was to save me the emabrrasement of not having the card declined

Huntington Bank became mine and my boyfriends bank about 3 months ago. When viewing daily online, they flip flop transactions continuously. Transactions should be taken out in the order they were made, like we keep track in our book. They also put deposits in last and not always the entire deposit. They will put in the first 100.00 and then the rest of it in after 24 hours. They have fixed his several times but will not attempt to fix mine when this happens to me. This is complete robbery and I have never heard of any other bank messing with peoples money like this. I am a single mother of 2 kids on unemployment and they nail me with NSF fees that are not necessary. Something needs to be done and quick.

They are giving me nsf fees for items that don't overdraw my account...
I was overdrawn 591.70, got a direct deposit for 1098.75, had a nsf fee for 37.50 and paid 2 bills for 120.00 and for 50.00 leaving me a balance of 299.55. They charged me 2 nsf fees 0f 37.50 for the 120. and the 50 because I have pending items of 299.76 and 200.00 which haven't actually went through yet..Now I will have a deposit ready to go in by Monday morning of 200.00 which if I did not have the nsf fees would make me even.. But they will not reverse the nsf fees for the 120. and 50... This has been a continual practice.. They state because I actually took all the money out that they can do this.. They have charged me alot this way and I think its a rip off to people who are having a hard time financially and is making it worse.

huntington would reverse my transcations causing me to accrue nsf fees of 37.50 a piece, this has been onging since dec since i had the account open, i talked to the reps and they told me i have paid out 1,887.00 in fees they said they reverse the fees from the lowest amounts to pay the big amounts which in turn cause u to accrue more fees, its put me behind alot of bills and credit and late on rent car notes behind, i have three kids to take care of and even had to take a pay day loan to pay off the fees, making more of a bill for me, so other transactions wont be reversed, they say now they only allow 4 transactions a day to be charged while the others accrue fees the next day. someone plz help me get my hard earned money back. the gut pubch is my fiance has has the banks with the same bank, they reversed all her nsf fees 6 times in 16mos, they did one for me and would do no others they say its case by case and its at their descretion when company policies state only one per 12mos they pick and choose who they reverse

Case Details:
We have banked at Huntington National Bank for several years. In the beginning, they seemed pretty good - willing to work with us, help us out, just great overall service. However, in the past few years we have made a few banking errors, which would have set our account in the red for under $100.00 in most cases - however, we ended up paying more than 4 times the amount in most cases because instead of processing smaller transactions first, they will process larger transactions so that more smaller ones will overdraft. So if you had $100.00 in your account and in one day you happened to spend $5.00, $2.00, $8.00, $15.00, $25.00, $1.00 and $60.00 - in that order - you might be pretty sure you bounced the largest payment, but one overdraft fee makes sense, however the bank will process it as; $100.00 - $60.00, $40.00 - $25.00, $15.00 - $15.00, $0.00 - $8.00 (-$37.50 overdraft), -$45.50 - $5.00 (-$37.50 overdraft), -$88.00 - $2.00 (-$37.50 overdraft), -$127.50 - $1.00 (-$37.50 overdraft) leaving you will a balance of -$166.00. That is 10 times the amount of actual money over drafted. Reasonably I would assume if they charged only one overdraft, for just the larger item, then you'd be only $53.5 in the hole, which is about 1/3 of what you will get charged.

Huntington bank charges me with excessive fees continually. I have pending deposits to my account and I will still incur nsf fees, it makes no sense and also they order they process or choose what to pay or leave pending incurs more overdraft and nsf fees, when if they would pay what fund were available for vs the largest first, there would be one nsf fee vs 6, 7 or even 8. having nsf fees for $4 charges is infuriating! This has caused me serious anxiety!

HNB continually charges me for fees (37.50 a pop) for their own negligence and have cost my family thousands of dollars in fees this year alone. I am the only one employed in my home with five dependents. This has caused serious emotional and financial damages as they literally have drained my account with these fees even after a deposit is "above" the fees on the statement.
