virgin mobile has been offering a no contract internet service. you can either buy the one usb device for 1 computer or the other device which can be used for 5 computers. 10.00 for so many mbs and the 40.00 unlimited data plan. after paying 149.99 for their mifi device which would enable 5 computers to hook up to the internet with an unlimited data plan, i receive an e-mail stating that, after feb. 15, 2011, anyone who goes over 5gb of data, will have limited downloading and streaming speeds. of course they never tell you this. they want you to buy their equipment. when i called them to ask some questions, i was told because of the number of people having the service, that the ones who use the most gbs will suffer the massive slow down speeds.

i see this as a bait and switch issue or misrepresentation, false advertising, scam. i always thought unlimited was just that. once they put a cap on it (5gbs) the service runs so slow and then it keeps kicking you off the net. had i had known this before i forked over all that money, i would have chose another method of browsing the internet. I'm on the internet a lot that's why i signed up for an unlimited plan. now that I've gone over my unlimited limit, i can't play videos without constant buffering or being booted off the system.
