I believe that Bluegreen Corp uses deceptive sales tactics and predatory lending practices to get people to buy a product that is not what it truly is.

1. I was told it had a lot of availability- which I find it hard every year to find a time that suits both the resort and me. Often, I have to go some where else or go with out.
2. I was told they had a resort in Disney by the sales guy.
3. I was told that I could easily sell it or give it back if I found we could not afford it.
4. The company did not fully evaluate our finances and led us to believe that we could afford this.

In summary, Bluegreen sold us on anything we asked to get us to sign on the dotted line.

1. Promised us a free week of vacationing every year.
2. Promised we got a great deal and they would sell it for us at a higher rate and we would make money.
3. Promised a personal travel agent
4. Promised discounts on plane tickets and car rental
5. Promised that scheduling would be simple and availability was good.
6. Promised stays in presidential suits
7. Promised we could stay at any RCI resort for 3,000 points and $25 per night.

The sales pitch went on for 6 hours and with super high pressure. We were tired and hadn't eaten. They said we had to make a decision right then or we would never be offered "charter membership" ever again.

From the beginning there have been issues. Paid for timeshare upfront they stole money from my bank account took six months to get money back. Was supposed to get 3 years of rci vacations wasnt able to get after numerous phonecalls and no cruise as promised at signing. was told maintenence fees would never go up they doubled. promised i would be able to use da pass to access resorts. have been turned down everytime. told maintenence fees kept resorts up. six year old son fell at resort because of bad surfaces that werent kept up. notified front desk they did nothing. at another had to leave a resort because no one would gather trash in hall and stench was bad. and then resorrts wanted to charge outragous inflated prices for wore out equipment paddle boats etc. so fed up but still tried to get monies worth. Worst part was told i could stay at big cedar the whole reason for purchase as is close to my family and i havent gotten to at all. no one will respond to concerns other than shoving me off to another representative. then in november had trouble paying maintenence fees and called and asked to use my points as i was promised i could do from bluegreen. but came to find out my points would only cover about 200 dollars of the almost 1500 it had gotten to. so was assured i could have more time. a couple months later when i called bluegreen to pay. they wouldnt accept my money and sent me to pinnacle a collection agency and of course the new price of mantenence fees was outragous. and i was yelled and at and treated like dirt. I said i own this outright it is not a mortgage didnt know why blegreen wouldnt take my money. but found out later pinnacle is bluegreen and sells peoples times share after they aquire them and is affiliated with bluegreen sales. dont understand why a company that boast about a 16.5 increase in profits last year is traeting owners like crap. and if thats not enough. it was revealed accidently by a bluegreen employee that they are renting my spot at big cedar out and profiting from that. i want and deserve my money back if not more.

I do not want bluegreen anymore I have paid for my mortgage. Every year I have to pay for maintenance fees and club dues. They rent the resorts and we are all paying for the upkeep. I'm going to retire and will not be able to continue to paying this. It keeps going up and I'm not using it because t hey never have dates I want or need.

I have been on the phone between customer care department and sales department, sales says my issue is is with customer care and customer care says my issue is with sales. The day of closing Daniel promised to call me the following Tuesday to obtain my account information. This never happened, the next thing I know I am getting threatening letters from Bluegreen saying that I have failed to provide them with a cancelled check and to send soonest to avoid collection. I tried to call sales but they did not return my calls initially. I fianlly talked to Daniel (paperwork guy) and he apolgized for not doing his job, he also said that bluegreen had failed to forward a cc appication to Barclays so that we could use the card to cover our maintenance costs. At this point I realized this is a creepy company, only it gets worse. I have gotten aplogies from everyone for screwing everything up, however they always say that I signed the contract and that is the only thing that matters. I talked to Wanda (customer care) who infuriated me to the point that I asked to talk to her boss, she stated she did not have a boss. I also wanted to send her an e-mail showing where she was incorrect in her statments and she said she wasn't allowed to receive e-mails. Wanda also promised me a call from Autumn but then told Autumn she didn't need to call me as my case was resolved (what a load of crap). Autumn promised to put a hold on my account so that I didn't have to make payments until I talked to the district sales guy (Troy) and the Vegas head sales guy (Pablo). Pablo didn't bother to call me back for 4 weeks because he decided there was no point. I finally pinged Autumn after Andrew the Mortgage guy threatened to take me to collections. He stated that his system can't talk to Autumns system so any communication that I may have had with Autumn about a hold on my account, the mortgage department wouldn't have access to. Back to the credit card, I found out I was declined on Feb 23rd, Barclays could not initially find the refusal letter and stated they don't keep them on file. Both my husbands and my credit scores are over 700 and we were flat out turned down for the card, the sales staff told us our status was pending when actually it was declined. Depending on who you talk to in the sales staff and at Barclays there are 2 stories story 1 is if you were declined then the sales staff would have known it that day, or 2. Even if you were instantly declined the Barclays system would give a status of pending, which I think is bullshit. We believed that Barclays was going to call us back if there were questions, this was an absolute lie.

1st of all Bluegreen uses Preditory Marketing techniques! My now husband and i were visiting Myrtle Beach lloking for a place to have our wedding. We went to Calabash for dinner and these very friendly people approached us. The people at Calbashes promised all sorts of details and said there would be no pressure. My husband and I attended the presentation. From the presentation Bluegreen gave about their properties ithe investment seemed lovely. Nothing could be further from the truth. Every word from these peoples months was a lie. They claim to own all these properties. I have later found that they do not own all the properties, they own rooms in these properties as to be like Expedia and other cut rate hotel reservations. That's why a lot of the times you can't get into the location you want to visit. My maintenance fees the first year were $1400. I only own 6000pts. Not sure why so much in fees. I would like a breakdown of each owners maintenance fees and how these fees are asessed to each owner. We have also been turned over to Pennical collection agency becasue our maintenance fees have not been paid. I have never been treated in such a way by such rude people. You don't dare ask them a question. They talk to us like we are common criminals and threaten us with unlawful actions if we don't pay.
A classaction should be filed against this cooporation. They are frauds and preditores and criminals! They know what they are doing when they lie to us about what theya re "selling" us and they should be held accountable! As a side note, Myrtle beach is much less attrative to me now, that they would allow such a company to take advantage of their visitors. The same goes for Calabash for allowing these people to solicite business from their patorns. I will not be revisitng them!

I signed up for Blugreens timepoint system, ant took a morgtage for that, in order to be able to use International vacations. However, I was never able to reserve any international (RCA) vacation in Caribbean or Australia/New Zealand, even years an advance. Another lie was that Bluegreens will buy back my timeshare at any time. I am loosing about $180 per month in mortgage and 500 per yearn in maintenance frees (over $7000 for now) with 0 value.

Maintenance fees continued to raise, when we call discuss a vacation booking, they informed us we would not have enough points and you can accumulate any as well, use them or lose them! we told them we wanted to cancel then and they put a forclosure on our credit report!!

Their tactics are bad in getting you to sign with it appearing to be great facilities.. We paid for about 5 yrs never using it since they never had anything available even during the week.. We were told since we were retired and could travel anythime that would be perfect.. Well not only was anything available we were in a city and took a tour of a facility on the list and it was absolutely NASTY.. I wouldn't stay they for free.. I tried everything to sell back to them all failed.. So we just stopped paying now our credit is ruined.. They need to be stopped..We all need our money back and credit repaired

The sales people told us that if couldn't afford this timeshare they could sell it for us at a %6 commision. They also told us we were buying a timeshare that someone else was selling. Both were lies.Now our finances changed drastically now we can't afford it, and guess what bluegreen told us when I told them I wanted to sell it. No we don't sell for people. Instead gave me a number to a re-sale time share company that has a 5% sucess sale rate. So now I'm gonna have to foreclose and ruin my otherwise excellent credit. I don't understand how sales people can sleep at night knowing they potentially ruin peoples lives.
