Case Summary:
I am a 52 year old healthy Mother of three, and Grandmother of five little girls. I was suffering from severe anxiety attacks and was prescribed Clonazepan six years ago. I was NOT told it was addicting. I have been trying to get off this NASTY drug for six months and it has been HELL. I thought I had escaped all the side effects but I have now what you call accute post withdrawl syndrome. I have burning skin, insomnia, depersonalization, feeling detatched from my body, and have anxiety more than I did before. Doctors prescribe this drug like it is candy not telling patients what they are up against. I realize there is probably a place for this drug somewhere, but NOT in a typical situation. This drug is even shared by people like it is candy. If you are having a bad day take a benzo, it will make you feel better, it will help you sleep. They never tell you how it fries your brain cells. I have been suffering from the result of over prescribed use of Benzodiazaphines and I want to see it stopped. I could go on for pages with my list of symptons and how debilitating they have been. I can't sleep, I can't work, I can't function on a day to day basis. I am afraid of everything. I am seeking help for this and I have a supportive family and Church family that are helping me through this Hell.

I would like to see Benzodiazapines banned from general use. They are given out way to much and they are being shared by so many people. They have mind altering capabilities and need to be stopped. Peple need warned how dangerous this drug is and how hard it is to get off of.
