Can I be arrested for debt?
No. There is no debtors' prison in California. You can be sanctioned for ignoring a court order such as a judgment debtor examination, where a court compels you to appear and answer questions under oath about your income and assets, which is a different thing, but the underlying debt itself carries no criminal exposure.
